Locate your Employee ID#
Locate your Employee ID Number
Log into webdesk.pisd.edu
Open the Skyward app.

(See image below for steps 1-4)
1. Be sure the dropdown at the top says Plano ISD.
2. Select Employee Access.
3. Click "Employee".
4. Select "Employee Profile". The next screen you see will display your Employee ID number.

The Network
Username and Password
Every time you login you agree to the Acceptable Use Guidelines.
Username: firstname.lastname (example: john.doe)
Password: First time login? Contact your CTA or the Help Desk for your password
Password Guidelines
- At least 8 (and up to 10) characters
- At least one upper-case letter. (A-Z)
- At least one lower-case letter. (a-z)
- At least one number. (0-9)
- At least one symbol/special character (!, $, #, etc.)
- NO SPACES
- Passwords are case-sensitive.
Note: You can change your password at any time if you believe your security has been compromised.
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on your keyboard.
- Click the Change a Password option.
- In the pop-up window, type your Old Password.
- Type a New Password, and retype it to confirm. Click OK.
Network Drives
When you click the two links below, you may need to wait a couple of seconds for the website to fully populate. Look for the small symbols that are laid over the main image and hover your mouse over those symbols for more information.

Securing your Computer
Your computer must be secured when you leave it unattended.
To lock your computer, click on:
- Windows button
- Your Profile
- Lock

Or press the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter "L".

Internet Filtering System
The district uses an Internet filtering system to shield students and staff from a vast majority of websites that are inappropriate for an educational environment. We also use a tiered filtering system. Tiered filtering means that staff may be able to access websites that students cannot access.
Request Website Block/Unblock
To request a website to be blocked or unblocked, open the app titled "PISD Website Filter Request" from your Webdesk. Please note this icon is not available for students as they should not be making Web Filter requests. Keep in mind that this is a request, which will be reviewed and then approved or denied
Internet Access for Students
Grades K-12
Students have access to the Internet from the first day of the school year. The teacher must go over the Acceptable Use Guidelines with every student during the first week of the school year. This process must be done every year.
Network Message Alerts
From time to time, the district will send critical information through a web browser window. This will open automatically after you login to the network. Please read or print (and read later). These messages contain vital information.
Email & Voicemail
Microsoft Outlook
* Must be completed on-campus AND you are required to have logged into your computer two times prior to setting up Outlook*
Installing Microsoft Outlook (at school)
A Windows security pop-up will be displayed during the installation prompting you for your password.
- Remove the (ad.) from the email address or retype your email address.
- Enter your current network password, even if it appears to be already filled in.
- Select "Remember my credentials" then click the OK button.
- TIP! he username field needs to be complete and accurately filled in using the following context: firstname.lastname@pisd.edu
Access from the Internet (at school or at home)
- Log into webdesk.pisd.edu and click the Microsoft 365 Copilot app OR go directly to outlook.com/pisd.edu and sign in.
- Enter your email address as the Microsoft 365 Copilot ID. (john.doe@pisd.edu)
- Enter your PISD network password and click Sign In.

Voice Mail
District personnel will be assigned a voice mailbox. It is the mailbox owner's responsibility to monitor this mailbox keeping messages current. If you do not have a voice mailbox, contact your office manager.
Password
- The password for your new voice mail will be your extension number.

Texas Open Records Law
Anything sent through e-mail is considered a public document and can be obtained by the public and mass news media under the Texas Open Records Law. Therefore, it is important to remain professional and follow proper codes of conduct when writing email messages.
Software
Software
- All district software undergoes a testing procedure to ensure that it functions on our network (and that it does not interfere with other programs on the network).
- In accordance with Board Policy (see p. 3), teachers may not bring their own software for use on district computers.
- You may not download programs from the Internet or otherwise install non-approved programs (.exe files) on any district computer.
- Web-based technologies that do not require a software download are readily available, and you are welcome to use those websites. If an instructional website is blocked by our network, you can submit a Web Filter Request to request that it be unblocked.
- To request software for instructional purposes, contact your curriculum coordinator first.
Accessing District Software
You will install software from the App Depot, and launch software from the PISD Apps folder. Don't see what you need? Contact the Help Desk at tsos@pisd.edu.
How to Install Software
- Double-click the App Depot icon on your desktop.
- The Software Center window will appear.
- Under Applications, select the software title you want to install.
- Click Install to begin the installation.
Running Applications
From your desktop, double-click PISD Apps.
Select the appropriate folder and run your application by double-clicking the desired program.

- Be respectful: Foster a school community that is positive, principled, and caring.
- Be smart and safe: Think before you click. If you are uncertain, talk with your admin staff.
First Days of Chromebook

Examples of Improper Use of a Computer or the Network
All of the following are PROHIBITED on our network:
- Racist, profane or obscene language
- Using the network for financial gain
- Harming or attempting to harm the equipment or data
- Accessing inappropriate material
- Knowingly placing a computer virus on a computer or the network
- Using a computer or the network for illegal purposes
Specifics Regarding Email
Email is considered a public document under the Texas Open Records Law and can be accessed by the public or news media in the case of any type of legal action.
- Use appropriate language. (No swearing, vulgarity, ethnic or racial slurs)
- No sending of obscene messages or pictures.
- Do NOT send chain letters, etc. Notify friends that you cannot receive them on your PISD email account. Ask them to send these to your home email address.
- Requests for personal information on students or staff members should not be honored via email. (see CQ(EXHIBIT E)). No grade or related information should be exchanged without the signed parent/guardian form on file. In addition, security information such as username or password should not be sent via email.
